First Quarter Emoji ๐

What the first quarter emoji means
๐ is the first quarter moon emoji. Half the disk is lit on the right in the Northern Hemisphere view. The Moon is about one week into its cycle: it has traveled a quarter of the way around Earth, which is why the phase is called a quarter even though the disk looks half full.
In messages it reads as a halfway point or a clear half-moon, not a crescent and not a full disk.
๐ is the last quarter, half lit on the left. ๐ is First Quarter Moon Face, the same half-lit shape with a face. ๐ (U+1F313) is the plain phase.
